This year's conference will be devoted to the effects of aviation noise on people's health and quality of life. It will focus on the presentation of results of the noise impact study NORAH (Noise Related Annoyance, Cognition and Health).

The NORAH Study examines the long-term effects of traffic noise on health, quality of life and childhood development in the Rhine-Main Region. The study is the most extensive investigation of the effects of aviation, road and rail noise which has ever taken place in Germany. The overall NORAH study is made up of five sub-studies and an acoustics database. The results of the individual disciplines will be presented by the respective study directors at this year's ICANA-Health. The Scientific Advisory Board for Quality Assurance will make statements, and international experts will present their own research work in the various areas.
