PhD position

A Ph.D. student position is available at SPeech Accommodation to Acoustics Lab, led by Pasquale Bottalico. The group is based at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
The research areas of the group are:
a) Effect of room acoustics on vocal effort and fatigue in laboratory settings.
b) Effect of room acoustics on vocal effort and fatigue in real classrooms.
c) Development of new devices to decrease noise generated by students and to minimize teachers' vocal effort.
d) Classroom acoustics for enhancing students' understanding when a teacher suffers from voice problems.
e) Singers' strategies to preserve vocal health and their application in speech.
f) Hearing and voice conservation among musicians.
