The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics, is offering a position beginning with the winter semester 2021/22 for a

University Professorship for Acoustics and Audio Engineering

based on § 98 of the Universities Act and § 25 of the collective agreement for university employees, in the form of a full time contractual position. It is possible to agree to an overpayment of the minimum monthly salary, which has been determined by the collective agreement and which at present is 5,245.60 € gross (14 payments annually).

Task areas
• independent research activity in the field of Acoustics and Audio Engineering
• teaching particularly in the fields of Electrical Engineering and Audio Engineering, Sound Design and in the Scholarly Doctoral Programme of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz
• independent teaching and examination activity
• participation in the development of the curricula
• responsible representation and promotion of the subject area in research and practice
• active participation in the further development of the university’s teaching environment and its artistic and scholarly life, as well as helping shape the academic autonomy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz
• participation in organisational, administrative and evaluation duties

I. Basic Employment Requirements
• a degree at the doctoral level from an Austrian or comparable foreign educational institute relevant to the position
• habilitation and/or a qualification equal to the habilitation in the subject area to be filled
• gender competence

II. Specific Employment Requirements
• several years of university research and teaching activity in various areas of Acoustics and Audio Engineering
• extensive international publication activity in the field of Acoustics and Audio Engineering
• several years of experience in the conception and implementation of cooperative research projects as well as in the acquisition of third-party funding
• experiences in complementary specialised fields, e.g. machine learning or experimental design
• several years of experience in leading larger working groups
• an outstanding international scholarly reputation
• musical-artistical experience
• willingness to work in a team
