The main objective of this project is the generation and detection of surface acoustic waves (SAW) in the range of the GHz over a micro-structured surface, as well as the use of these SAWs for the manipulation of the phase of optical beams. We seek for a candidate interested in learning both the theoretical and experimental aspects of picoseconds ultrasonics and optical imaging.
This position is funded by an EIC Pathfinder Project coordinated by the University Jaume I (UJI) which has a duration of four years. The duration of the position is of three years. The PhD candidate will join the GROC team at UJI, and different visits to our partners in the Imperial College (UK), INSP (France), ICMAB (Spain) or AGH (Poland) might be required.
