Its work includes the development and application of modern measurement techniques for precisely measuring infrasound using ground stations, but also using measurement drones, for example. Your tasks will comprise:
Designing a novel portable measurement unit for measuring acoustic, low-frequency signals
Planning and coordinating the production of prototypes of the required hardware and software for the measurement unit
Connecting several measurement units to arrays
Applying the arrays for the precise determination and localization of infrasound sources
Working in a laboratory and in field tests
Presenting the results at national and international congresses and publishing them in specialist journals
You have completed your university studies (Master’s or German Diplom) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied computer science, applied physics or in a comparable field.
Ideally, you have practical experience with rapid prototyping and circuits.
In-depth expert knowledge in the fields of acoustics, dynamics and measurement techniques would be of advantage.
You have an extensive understanding of the fundamental aspects of physics and technology.
