EAA Women+

Promoting inclusion and equal opportunities in acoustics

Women+

Women In Acoustics (Women+) acknowledges that attracting and retaining women in acoustics requires more than good intentions. As an initiative of the European Acoustics Association, Women+ is committed to supporting women and all underrepresented minorities in acoustics, recognizing that inclusion requires concrete and sustained action throughout education and professional careers.

Key actions include:

  • Understanding inclusive practices in hiring, competitions, and promotions across different countries, to improve practices within the diferent communities.
  • Providing mentoring and networking opportunities to foster professional growth.
  • Increasing the visibility and recognition of contributions from women and minorities.
  • Encouraging research on diversity and gender-related aspects in acoustics, from perception and cognition to academic and industry practices.

Through these actions, the initiative aims to make acoustics a field where everyone can thrive and lead.
