From the 11th to the 15th of September, Turin, Italy, played host to Forum Acusticum 2023, an exceptional gathering that brought together acousticians, researchers, and enthusiasts from across the globe. With a total of 1,250 participants, this event marked a significant milestone in the world of acoustics.
A standout feature of Forum Acusticum 2023 was the impressive number of young professionals involved, with 488 participants under the age of 35. Their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives contributed to the vibrancy of the event, ensuring a dynamic exchange of ideas.
The conference featured 33 exhibitors and sponsors, highlighting the latest advancements in acoustics technology and research. Attendees had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge products and services in the field.
One of the cornerstones of the event was the presentation of 1,050 double peer-reviewed articles. These articles covered a wide spectrum of acoustic topics and were delivered through both oral and poster presentations. The depth and diversity of the research showcased at Forum Acusticum 2023 demonstrated the ever-expanding boundaries of acoustics.
In addition to the academic sessions, the conference offered enriching technical visits, plenary lectures featuring renowned experts, and a captivating social program that fostered networking and camaraderie among attendees.
For those keen to explore the extensive knowledge presented at the conference, the proceedings are currently available for download from the Forum Acusticum 2023 website. After undergoing a formal review process, the final documents will also be accessible via Documenta Acustica Electronica (DAEL), the portal of the European Acoustics Association.
Forum Acusticum 2023 was an unparalleled success, serving as a hub for the exchange of groundbreaking ideas and innovations in acoustics. As the acoustics community continues to grow and evolve, events like these play a crucial role in advancing the field and nurturing the next generation of acousticians.
The European Acoustics Association is delighted to announce the success of its mentoring program's initial phase. Last summer, the program saw the establishment of seven mentor-mentee pairs, laying a strong foundation for knowledge exchange and professional development within the acoustics community.
Further enhancing the program's efficacy, an in-person meeting took place during Forum Acusticum 2023, reinforcing the commitment to mentorship within the EAA. This successful gathering showcased the program's potential to strengthen connections between experienced acousticians and emerging talents.
