Keywords
The course is directed to future acoustics and vibrations experimentalists - Introduction to measurements: description of current measurement systems (sensors, signal conditioning, signal processing, errors sources, converter) - Measurement uncertainty concepts: associated statistic, measurement process analysis (5M rule, GUM) and estimation of uncertainties - Measurement principle of acoustic quantities (pressure, intensity, power): sensor operation and associated instrumentation (microphones, sonometer, intensity probe, PU probe), acoustical array (principle, methods, experimental implementation), calibration method, standard aspects in building acoustics - Measurement principle of mechanic quantities useful in structural dynamics (displacement, velocity, acceleration, force, impedance): sensor operation and associated instrumentation (velocity measurement, accelerometer, force sensor, impedance head),practical use (minimization of error sources, calibration), modal analysis (principle, experimental implementation) - The lecture will be complemented by talks (given by professionals working for multinational companies), by visits of metrology laboratories (COFRAC accredited) and by practical work reviewing the different notions covered during the lecture.
