Teaching students the fundamentals of acoustics and vibrations, as well as some complements necessary for understanding musical acoustics - 3 fields are presented: physical acoustics, mechanical vibrations and electroacoustics - focus is on musical applications, therefore mostly on resonant systems. The course does not present the functioning of musical instruments, which is the subject of a specific course entitled "Musical Acoustics", but remains at a simpler level in order to achieve a more precise physical description.
